An astrology AI that reads your chart and theirs
Luna, the astrologer · Pro
What an astrology AI is good for
Most astrology apps hand you a daily horoscope written for everyone born in the same month. Luna starts from somewhere smaller and more useful: one real situation in your life. A slow reply, a fight that keeps coming back, a pull toward someone you can't explain. She uses astrology as a lens to look at it with you.
That lens is good at a particular job. It gives you words for patterns you already feel. Why a short silence lands like a door closing for you, when it barely registers for your partner. Why two people can love each other and still grate in the same spot every week. Sometimes having a name for the friction is what lets you stop taking it personally.
What it isn't good at is making your decisions. Luna knows that, and she says so. A chart shows tendencies, never a sentence. So every reading she gives comes back to what actually happened, and to what you want underneath it.
How Luna reads a chart
Your chart starts with your birthday. Give Luna a full date, year included, and Calypso works out your sun sign and narrows your moon to one sign, or the two it falls between. Add the time you were born and the city, and it settles the moon and places your rising too. The signs are calculated from those details, or saved as you give them if you already know your signs, so Luna never guesses or invents one.
She keeps two things apart and tells you which is which. Placements are facts: "you're a Gemini sun with a Cancer moon." Her reading of a placement is interpretation, and she phrases it that way: "Cancer moons tend to hear silence as distance," never "you're needy because you're a Cancer." A sign tends to; it never says who you are.
She's honest about precision, too. No birth time means no rising sign, and she'll tell you that rather than fill the gap. If your moon could be either of two signs and she doesn't have the hour, she names both and says the time decides it. If you're born near the edge of a sun sign, she tells you you're on the cusp.
Luna works with sun, moon and rising, the big three, for you and for the people you ask about. She doesn't track where the planets are today, so there are no transits, no retrogrades and no daily horoscopes in her replies.
How Luna talks
Example conversations, written to show the voice. Not real people.
Your chart and theirs
Compatibility is the heart of what Luna does. Once she has both charts, she looks at where they meet: a shared sign, a trine or sextile where things tend to flow, a square or opposition where they tend to rub, and how your elements sit together. Fire and water tend to read a fight differently. Earth and air tend to disagree about what counts as effort.
She treats compatibility as a map, never a verdict. In chat she won't hand you a score, and she won't call two people doomed or soulmates. Two fixed signs that square each other might mean you both dig in and want to be chosen first. That's useful to know. It doesn't decide anything on its own.
When Luna needs a chart she doesn't have, she asks once how you'd like to give it. She can pop up a short chart form right in the conversation, or you can just tell her, one detail at a time. Charts for other people are kept under their name, so next time you mention Sam, she already has Sam's signs.
Everyone you've saved shows up on your profile under "people in your stars", where you can fix a birthday or delete a chart. In an incognito chat, Luna saves nothing and offers no chart form. She can still read the charts you've already saved, and she'll work with whatever you tell her there, off the record.
Signs explain, behavior decides
This is the rule Luna holds hardest. A sign can explain why something hurts the way it does. It can't tell you whether to stay, leave, trust or give up on someone. When the chart and what a person actually does disagree, what they do wins, and Luna will say so plainly. A beautiful match on paper doesn't excuse being cancelled on three times.
There are things she won't read at all. She won't tell you the future or say when someone will text back. She won't read health, pregnancy, money, legal trouble, illness or death in a chart, and she'll never label anyone toxic, cold or broken because of their signs.
Some moments are bigger than any chart. Talk of ending your life or harming yourself, or of a person who threatens, controls or scares you, and Luna puts the stars away entirely and points you to real people who can help now. Calypso is meant for everyday emotional support, not emergencies: in the US, call or text 988, or use your local emergency number elsewhere. If someone is hurting or controlling you, the National Domestic Violence Hotline is 1-800-799-7233 (thehotline.org). Our safety page lists more options.
Astrology is also optional with her. If you'd rather leave the stars out tonight and just talk, say so. She drops the charts and stays with you, still quiet, still precise, still Luna. Good news and hard days often get no signs from her at all.
When another voice fits better
Luna is one of four personas, and each one reads a situation differently. If you need to pour it all out before anyone interprets anything, start with Aria, the wise best friend. She's free and doesn't need an account to begin.
If the real question is what someone was thinking when they sent that message, Markus, the guy's view, will tell you flatly how it probably reads from the other side. If you already half know the answer and want someone to say it straight and hand you a plan, that's Rhea, the big sister.
Each chat keeps the voice you opened it with. To hear a second take on the same situation, open a new chat with someone else and tell it again. Luna's saved charts stay put, so they're there whenever you come back to her.
Getting Luna
Luna is included in Calypso Pro, as are Markus and Rhea. Pro also adds more messages and more decodes, and an optional synastry read inside Decode, so a decoded conversation can be looked at through both charts too.
Everything works in a browser tab on your phone or laptop, with no download. If you're curious but not ready to pay, Aria costs nothing, so you can get a sense of Calypso before choosing a plan.
