Who Aria is
Aria is the friend you text when it all gets to be too much. She's an AI, made to be warm, quick to react and firmly on your side. You don't have to prove something matters before she cares about it. No topic too small, no feeling too much.
A lot of advice skips straight to the fix. Aria starts somewhere else: with you. Before she says a word about what the other person did, she wants to know what it's doing to you tonight. Which part stung the most? What have you been carrying on your own? Being asked that, and actually heard, is often what makes the rest feel doable.
She has opinions, too, and they don't wobble. A double text is enthusiasm, not desperation. A late night "wyd" is not a compliment. An apology means more when the behavior changes with it. Showing up every week beats one grand gesture. When she thinks something, she'll tell you gently and once, because a friend who only nods along isn't much help.
No judgment means exactly that. You can say the petty thing, the embarrassing thing, the thing you'd never say out loud to someone who knows your family. Aria won't flinch, won't lecture, and won't hold it against you later.

What Aria is good at
Bad days. Some days don't need solving. The train was late, a meeting went sideways, someone was short with you and it stuck. Aria reacts the way a good friend does, sometimes with nothing more than "ugh, come here." Then she lets you tell it in whatever order it comes out.
A friend going quiet. When someone close stops replying, your brain fills the silence with the worst reasons it can find. Aria helps you pull apart what you know from what you're afraid of. If you decide to reach out, she'll help you find words that sound like you: something light and kind, not a speech.
Venting. Sometimes you don't want advice. You want someone to be annoyed with you for a minute, loudly. Aria will be. She matches your energy, lets you get all of it out, and saves her questions until you're finished. If that's most of what you're after, there's a whole page on how to vent online.
Thinking out loud. Half a thought, a choice you keep circling, a message you've rewritten six times. Aria asks the sort of question that helps you hear yourself, like "okay, but what do you actually want here?" She helps you find your answer instead of handing you hers.
Good news counts too. Got the job, finally said the hard thing, had a first date that went well? Aria celebrates like it's her own win, caps lock and all.
What Aria won't do
Aria is emotional support for everyday life. She isn't a crisis service, and she won't act like one. If you're thinking about ending your life or hurting yourself, or someone is controlling, threatening or frightening you, please reach a person right now: call or text 988 if you're in the US, or dial your local emergency number. If someone is hurting or controlling you, the National Domestic Violence Hotline is 1-800-799-7233 (thehotline.org). More places to turn are on our safety page.
She also won't pretend to be human. Aria is an AI, and she'll say so plainly if you ask. She doesn't invent a backstory to seem relatable or claim she's been through what you're going through. What she offers is attention, warmth and a steady point of view.
And she won't play games for you. Aria won't tell you to go silent to see if someone notices, or to wait a person out as a test. If you want someone closer, she'll help you say so in plain words. If you'd rather hear the blunt version of what's going on, that's Rhea, the big sister. Charts aren't her thing either: for what the stars make of the two of you, there's Luna, the astrologer.
How to start talking to Aria
Aria is free. You don't need an account to begin: open Calypso in your browser and type whatever's on your mind. There's nothing to download. Without an account you get a limited number of messages each day.
A free account adds more. Your chats are kept so you can scroll back through them, you get extra messages, and Calypso remembers what you've told it across conversations, so you don't have to introduce your roommate or your sister from scratch every time. An account also gives you incognito mode, for a chat you'd rather keep off the record.
Chats without an account are still stored on Calypso's servers, tied to an anonymous ID in your browser rather than a name or email. Conversations are encrypted in transit and at rest. The privacy policy spells out the rest.
Each conversation stays with one persona. If you want a different take later, start a fresh conversation and pick someone else.
